1909 - 1997-10 Start date uncetain. It was only during 1910-1911 while working for Professor Van Calcar at his home in Oegstgeest near Leiden that Mondrian occasionally reported in letters to Aletta de Iong of outings with Mrs. Van Calcar to a concert or a visit to the family at the summer resort of Zandvoort. However, the artist may have met the professor and his wife earlier at the St. Lucas Society in Amsterdam, and she is known to have joined the Theosophical Society in 1912 (information from M. Bax in Welsh/Joosten 1998).
