The polychromy is applied on plaster of variable thickness of chalk and animal glue. The gilding is done on an orange bolus with water containing binder or on an ocher yellow ground with oil containing binder. For the incarnadine, applied on a smooth surface, a pale pink is used for women, men' are more emphasized (KIK 1970); the wings of the retable are lost (D'Hainait-Zveny 2005)
