At some point in time the painting has been enlarged to c. 67.3 x 52.7 cm (Smith 1829-1842, vol. 7 (1836), no. 204). Already in the 19th century the painting had it's enlarged measurements, which can be decuced from the engraving made after it by Tomkins in 1817 (Ottley/Tomkins 1818, no. 66). These addition was probably removed during treatment by De Wild in 1933 (Edinburgh 1950, no. 30; Wright 1982, p. 31-32, 43, no. 45).
