However, in the Corpus of Rembrandt Paintings it it is stated that the painting was confiscated in 1793 wth a reference to a manuscript "Saisie révolutionnaire de 1793", which is kept in the museum in Rennes (Corpus of Rembrandt Paintings 1982-, vol. 2 (1986), no. C 45).
