According to Tacke a narrow strip was removed at the left and possibly also the right side of the panel (Tacke 1995, p. 191-194, no. 92). Based on splintering at the top edge, the RRP mentiones that it is possible that a small strip of wood was removed from that side of the panel (Corpus of Rembrandt Paintings 1982-2015, vol. 1 (1982), no. A 26).
