This portrait has (probably) been part of a series of 155 portraits produced by Stolker from Dutch, Flemish and German artists to (older) examples. On the back of the portraits the name of the depicted person, sometimes with birth- and death dates, and a number. After the death of Stolkers this collection was auctioned in Rotterdam (P. en J. Holsteyn) 27-3-1786, no. 84 (according to Auction cat. Amsterdam 1997).
