A narrow strip of wood, 4.6 cm wide at the top and 4.1 cm at the bottom, was added to the right-hand side. The image, which was originally arch-shaped, was extended onto the squinches at a later stage (Noble/Van Loon 2005; Noble e.a. 2008).

The last digit of the date in the signature appears on a small strip that was added later. However, 1636 must be the correct date, because a signed copy by Willem de Poorter is dated 1636.
