Support/medium
canvas, oil paint
Shape/dimensions
rectangle (portrait format) 65,4 x 60,2 cm
The painting was altered in size during the 2005 restoration. The darkly painted border, which had been folded over three sides (left, right and top), was unfolded, so that the border is again visible. On the left-hand side and at the top, the border is 4 cm wide and still intact. On the right-hand side, where the canvas was cut down, the border is only 1 cm wide. The border is missing altogether at the bottom, where the canvas was cut down even more. Presumably there was once a border at the bottom, so that the image was completely framed (Noble e.a. 2008).
