Current attribution
or studio of Rembrandt
This painting was always viewed as an autograph Rembrandt until doubted by the RRP in 1986. They regarded it as a work by someone from Rembrandt's workshop (Corpus of Rembrandt Paintings 1982-2015, vol. 2 (1986), no. C 70). In the latest volume of the Corpus the painting is reattributed to Rembrandt (Corpus of Rembrandt Paintings 1982-2015, vol. 6 (2015), no. 87a).

Documentation can be accessed by appointment at the RKD. While not all technical documentation has been entered in the database at present, new data is added on a regular basis.
