He printed a.o. Rembrandt-etchings after 74 original plates, which he probably acquired from Rembrandt, who was a personal friend of his.; because of his stock of more then 60.000 prints De Jonghe was a major player on the art-markett. His collection original copperplates (among which the aforementioned 74 by Rembrandt) was auctioned in Amsterdam on 14 June and 25 October 1679. According to AKL he also was an engraver himself.
