Two of Gérard Edelinck's sons enter the naval administration: Charles (born April 1st, 1673) who died on January 31st, 1712 aboard the 'Fidèle' and Gerard II (born April 13th, 1678) who was first draftsman and painter and obtains on January 21st, 1721 the 'brevet de maître à dessiner '(drawing master patent) in the naval guards (Grivel 1986). Gérard Edelinck's daughter Marie Madeleine Geneviève got married to Grégoire Dupuis, prinseller and publisher, son of the publisher Jean Dupuis and Marie Mariette (thus nephew of Pierre II Mariette), on February 9th, 1700 (Saur 2002) .
