on 3 June 1686 'Sebastien Slooders, sculpteur ordinaire du roi' was godfather in Saint-Germain-l’Auxerrois of Marie Anne, daughter of Jean Malaire, master stone mason and Margueritte Delaporte, his wife, from rue Fremanteau. On 25 February 1691 Sebastien Selois, 36, was married to Magdelaine de Cussy, c. 16, daughter of Dominicque de Cussy, founder and 'ébéniste ordinaire du roi' were married in the parish of Saint-Germain-l’Auxerrois. Among the many guests were Gerard Edelinck, graveur ordinaire du roi demeurant rue Saint-Jacques; Martin Vermeulle, graveur du roi demeurant rue des Noyers, friends of the groom; of Paul Goujon, peintre des bâtiments du roi, grandfather of the bride, of master Nicolas François Goujon, acolyte de Paris, cousin of the bride mariée ; of René Hoüasse, peintre ordinaire du roi ; d’Ancelme Flamen, sculpteur ordinaire du roi, friends of the groo, living in rue du Coq. On 29 January 1697 his daughter Marie Françoise was christened in Saint-Germain-l’Auxerrois. Godparents were 'François Girardon, sculpteur ordinaire du roi, chancelier et recteur de son académie royale de peinture et sculpture' and 'damoiselle Marie de Bé, épouse du sieur René Antoine Houasse, peintre ordinaire du roi, adjoint et recteur de ladite académie'. On 14 July 1704 he concluded a contract for five years with Thomas Philippe, sculptor, for the benefit of Jean-Baptiste Philippe, aged 17, son of said Thomas Philippe; the apprentice will feed and sleep with his father, who will send him to his master at 6 am in summer until 7 pm, in winter, in the morning when it is day, for 150 pounds. Since 1699 Slodtz had a studio in Le Vieux Louvre, where he eventually died in 1726. He owned considerable real estate, that he inherited from his wife's grandfather, Paul Coujon. His probate inventory was made on 26 June 1726 for the benefit of his children (majors and minors) (Levert 2017A)

He worked for the palace of Versailles, although it is not certain that he lodged at the site during the work (Levert 2017A).
