Curriculum vitae and duties

Sabine van Beek completed her Bachelor’s in Art History at the University of Leiden and finished her Research Master’s Arts of the Netherlands in January 2022 at the University of Amsterdam. She wrote her master thesis about the Brussels painter Lancelot Volders (1636-1723), his oeuvre and the role of his work in the continuation of the dynastic visual tradition in royal residences.

Sabine wrote this thesis as a result of her internship at the Royal Palace Amsterdam, where she also contributed to the exhibition Grensverkenners. In 2021 she got a work-experience placement at the Royal Collections in The Hague, where she mainly worked on the registration of seventeenth- and eighteenth-century prints. In 2022, Sabine started as a project member Opening & Presentations and as a staff member of the registration department at the Royal Collections. Thereafter, she began working at the Printroom Online project of the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam. In 2023, Sabine started at the RKD as Junior Curator Dutch and Flemish Old Masters.
