    settled before 1582 in Delft; in the first 10 years no data known; in 1592 moved his business to the Convent of St. Agnes (desolved in the Reformation) (contract with the civic authorities of 24 December 1592: Briels 1984). He became a regular customer of the Estates General in The Hague, who presented his tapestries as diplomatic gifts to e.g. the Danish and Swedish courts and nobles from England, Poland and France (Luijten et al. 1993). Frans retired in 1620 and handed the shop with 40 assistants over to his son Aert (1593-1650) (Luijten et al. 1993). He worked together with Jan de Maecht from Brussels and his sons Heyndrick and Laureys. HIs favourite designs were by Karel van Mander (I). His painters of cartoons was Abraham Bonaert from Oudenaarde and Karel van Mander (II) (Briels 1984, also enumerates all his weavers, p. 57-58 note 6)
