in the 1670s his still lifes were his first works which he signed with his full name; Van Hoogstraten's passage on the Dordrecht still-life painter of peaches was identified by Bredius in 1915 as Abraham van Calraet; at a later age he painted landscapes; the still lifes attributed by Hofstede de Groot to Aelbert Cuyp have again been attributed to Van Calraet (Van der Willigen/Meijer 2003, p. 59)
