Houbraken says that Cuyp painted, besides landscapes and calm waters with ships and horses, fruit still lifes as well; however, most fruit-still lifes with the monogram A.C. are attributed now rightly to Abraham van Calraet; Reiss has selected two cattle barns that might be painted by Cuyp(Van der Willigen/Meijer 2003, p. 69).
