    c. 1530-1560; apprentices are registered by Mandijn with the Antwerp Saint Luke Guild in 1530, 1535, 1539, 1540, 1543, 1544, 1550 and 1557 (Thieme/Becker 1930). On June 20, 1542 Jan Mandijn, 42 years old and Pieter Aertsen, 34 years old, are requested by the Biscay merchant Simon del Barco to appreciate three paintings: “the history of Saint Jeronimus; the life and history of Saint Onophius (sic) and the life of Saint Anthony ”, they estimate the three scenes at £ 24.
