    from c. 1600 on in Rome active in the studio of Cristoforo Roncalli; possibly active in the studio of Caravaggio in August 1603, although this fact is still under discussion (in the lwasuit between Caravaggio and Giovanni Baglione there is several imes the mention of an apprentice 'Bartolomeo', which could mean Manfredi); he had his own workshop from 1610 onwards with many apprentices, regularly in different locations. he was a memeber of the Accademia di S. Luca. He mainly worked for rich, private collectors like Marchese Vincenzo Giustiniani, Ludovico Ludoviso, Duke Carlo Emanuele I. di Savoia and Maffeo Barberini and Alessandro d'Este. (Saur 2015)
