De datering is wel gelezen als 1640, 1646 en 1648. Bij de in 2004 voltooide restauratie bleek het laatste cijfer van de datering een 9 te zijn ( zie cat. tent. Den Haag-Schwerin, 2004-2005, p. 118 fig. 8a).
