How to reach us
The Royal Library (KB) complex, which includes the RKD, is between Den Haag Central Station (CS) and the Utrechtsebaan (A12).
Public transport
The RKD is easy to reach by public transport. Take a train, tram or bus to Den Haag CS. From there take the exit towards Anna van Buerenplein. Turn right and walk straight on, past the National Archive, until you reach the entrance to the KB complex. The RKD is on the ground floor to the left.
Bicycle
If you are coming by bicycle, you can follow the same route from Den Haag CS. You can leave your bike (at your own risk) in the bicycle racks to the right of the entrance.
Car
Coming from Amsterdam, Utrecht or Rotterdam: follow the A4, A12 and A13. At Prins Clausplein follow signs for Den Haag Centrum via the Utrechtsebaan (A12). Take the turn to Den Haag Centrum and follow the Prins Clauslaan (parallel to the motorway) as far as Theresiastraat (immediately after the second building that bridges the road). Turn off to the left and then you arrive at the RKD entrance. Two blocks of flats are currently under construction on the Maria Stuartplein. While building work continues it is possible that the RKD will be difficult to reach by car. If you have any questions, contact us before your visit using the contact form or by telephone on +31 70 3339777.
Parking
There is paid parking in the CS/New Babylon carpark close to Central Station (Prinses Irenestraat). Another possibility is to use Ypenburg Station P+R, which is right next to the A12. At Ypenburg Station P+R you can park for free on the Prinses Maximaplein. It then takes 8 minutes to reach Den Haag CS by train.
