Artists Documentation

The collection Artists Documentation contains a variety of information sources: clippings from Dutch – and a smaller proportion from foreign – daily and weekly magazines, newspapers, invitations, press releases, small brochures and flyers from museum exhibitions, art dealers and galleries.

The majority is related to twentieth century art. The collection's information value is attributed to the diversity of the material. Information from these documents is difficult or impossible to retrieve from other sources.

The internal cohesion (various material on one particular artist or subject bundled together) promotes the usability of this information for varying kinds of research such as art criticism, reception history, research into origin, and exhibition history.
